University Archives seeks artifacts from Lida Lee Tall School

Lida Lee Tall School

Former students need no introduction to the Lida Lee Tall School. They know it was an elementary and middle school as well as an observation lab for those training to be teachers. The school, formerly located on Towson University’s campus, closed in 1991, but was renowned for its focus on student engagement and learning. TU’s Special Collections and University Archives continues to celebrate the more than 100-year legacy of the Lida Lee Tall School by collecting and sharing artifacts from the school.

The collection is limited to administrative documents and a few examples of student work. TU’s Special Collections is looking for items such as class projects, photographs, publications and yearbooks. To donate materials or for more information, please contact Ashley Todd-Diaz, head of Special Collections and University Archives, at atodddiaz@towson.edu or 410-704-2398. There is also a fund dedicated to preserving the collection, www.towson.edu/GiveToLidaLeeTallLegacyFund
